FAQs

Question

Is there transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Sayulita is a very walkable town, and our venue will be on the South end of town. There are golf carts you can rent to cruise around the town.

Question

How should I prepare for travel to Mexico?

Answer

Make sure you have your passport and that it's not within 3 months of its expiration. If you need to apply for one now, you have time. You will not need a visa to visit Mexico. Check your cell phone plan to see what your international calling/text is. Most US plans treat Mexico the same as the US.

Question

Should I drink the water?

Answer

No. Make sure you're drinking filtered or bottled water. Almost all hotels provide drinking water, so bring your reusable water bottle or save water and drink mezcal instead! Restaurants and bars use ice made from filtered or purified water (this has been tested and approved by us).

Question

Where should I get Pesos?

Answer

We recommend exchanging cash at your local bank. You can withdraw cash at the PVR airport, where there are reliable ATMs that will give you the best exchange rate. Sayulita has limited ATM availability, and they sometimes run out of cash. Some places will accept American dollars (although it is not preferred, and the exchange rate may not be great). Most hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops take debit/credit cards (be sure to tell your bank that you'll be using your card in Mexico). The street vendors only take pesos.

Question

Is Mexico Safe?

Answer

We have always felt welcomed and safe in Mexico. That being said, we respect & love the people and culture. 1. If you are someone who supports ICE, maybe just stay home and eat Popeyes. 2. If you go looking for trouble, it will find ya.

Question

Do people speak English in Sayulita?

Answer

Many people speak English, but some do not. Don't worry, though, everyone is very patient when trying to breach the language barrier, and Google Translate is a great resource. Almost all restaurants will have menus in English.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

It's hot during the day but can cool off at night with a breeze. While wandering around town, we recommend wearing swimsuits/beachy attire so you can take a dip whenever the moment strikes you. Welcome Dinner: Beachy Chic Ceremony + Reception: Colorful Cocktail Attire

Question

Are children coming?

Answer

We love all your little ones, but the wedding will be kid-free. If you decide to bring your child to Mexico, sayulitababysitting.com (or your abuela!) is recommended for events.

Question

What about a plus one?

Answer

Our wedding will be intimate; invitations are for named guests only.
