After noticing each other from across the room at a dingy house party their freshman year of college, Emma bet Ethan a quarter that he couldn't do push-ups while she was sitting on top of him. He did not win that quarter. Two nights later, he offered to let her keep her hands in the pockets of his winter coat while their friends went sledding. A few days after that, they met in the lobby of Emma's dorm to compare vinyl collections and look at old cameras. They spent hours together over the course of the days that followed, and they fell in love only a few months later. They shared every part of the next three years at Ashland University, and they graduated in May of 2025, more in love than they'd ever been. That love continued to deepen and strengthen as they navigated post-college life and the beginnings of their careers. Their love for and commitment to each other remained one of only a few certainties in the months following their graduation. Ethan proposed to Emma in November, in the park where he played the song he had written for her on their first formal date in 2022. (She told him she loved him for the first time later that day.) Their favorite things to do together in 2026 are the things they loved doing together when they were 18 years old, still trying to learn who the other was: going on coffee dates, finding hidden treasures in thrift stores, putting Lego sets together, and spending time outside. Ethan and Emma are so excited to live the rest of their lives in service to their Savior and in love with each other, and they can't wait to celebrate the beginning with all of the people they love the most!
