We met our second year in college. Surprisingly, both being from New Iberia, Louisiana, we knew of each other but had never officially met. One night downtown Lafayette, Brandon and I were introduced by mutual friends...he says we met at Marleys, I say City Bar. Either way...the rest was history.
Brandon took me on our first date to Coyote Blues. I had told him how much I loved Mexican food, specifically chicken quesadillas (and margaritas, ha). After 6 months of going on multiple dates and eating at a variety of different restaurants, he only saw me order chicken quesadillas at every. single. restaurant. He later asked me if that was the only food I liked, LOL. We could be at a Chinese restaurant and he would joke and tell the waiter, "she'll take the chicken quesadillas". We will forever have a love for Mexican food date nights. If you see the bride eating chicken quesaillas every meal---we warned you.
After enjoying a wonderful hibachi meal, I was stuffed and ready to go relax, start a fire and watch a movie on the patio. We got home (Brandon was cool as a cucumber), he asked me to grab his jacket inside while he took Ollie out. I walked outside and didn't see anyone....I cut the corner only to be surprised by a beautiful light up sign that said "MARRY ME". After almost fainting, LOL, I then see Ollie with a red bow around his neck and Brandon walking to the marry me sign where he got down on one knee-- my heart still melts picturing this. It was such a beautiful and sentimental moment! I will never forget this day!
