We met on the job, probably at various times throughout the years. Towards the end of 2019 we began to talk and I was blown away he would actually call me. One night while we were both at the gym, Zach YMCA, me at City Hall, Zach asked to go to Old Chicago. I didn't count this as an actual first date, but it was an amazing time and I wished it didn't end. I then asked Zach out and we went on that date a week later. After that we hung out all of the time and I slowly started incorporating myself in with the kids to make sure they were comfortable. To say they least, they have accepted me with open and loving arms.
We decided to go on a Vacation to Hawaii because we needed some time off and to decompress. We decided before we went that we wanted to hike several of the days. The day after we landed, Zach was asking what hikes were the best, one Uber driver said "Koko Head is medium-hard, you'll probably just need a couple breaks and get up there in 30 minutes." Off we went avoiding the warning signs. After a painful and slow climb up we got to the top where I took a deserved rest thinking Zach was as well. I looked over and he was down on one knee. I asked "Are you serious?!" and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Wichita!
