We are getting married!!

We were going to Hawaii, and I thought, “is there a better place to propose?” Katie had shown me videos of a waterfall she wanted to hike to while we were there, and that was where I wanted to ask her. We landed on Kauai on the 23rd of March. The rest of Katie’s extended family got there on the 24th and we went over to their AirBnB to hang out. After some conversation, we figured out that the waterfall Katie wanted to go to was on Oahu… there goes that plan. We took a drive to Waimea Canyon and found a hike to a waterfall… maybe this idea will work out? … It didn’t. The hike was rough, and the waterfall was weak. I ended up bringing the ring to the Luau we had planned for that night, just hoping we would have a moment. Katie and I had a great time touring the plantation where the luau was held, and then I found my moment I hoped for. Her family wanted group pictures, and found a nice backdrop. After everybody dispersed, I put my hand in my pocket and gave Katie’s cousin, Abbie, a nod. She understood, and offered to take pictures of the two of us. After the first one, Katie had to check it, and after she came back to my side, I got down on one knee, and asked her to marry me… she took FOREVER to say yes, but I’m glad she did.

We actually met on a dating app called Hinge. We messaged each other on the phone for almost a month before we decided to meet in-person. For our first date, Cobe picked me up from my mom’s house and drove me all the way to McCall so he could work on his trailer while I sat in a hammock and watched- best first date ever! Something about all the little chats we had and about that day made me realize Cobe was the one for me… the rest is history!

Katie is vegetarian, and can’t keep house plants alive… but she doesn’t eat them!

Cobe hates dancing… but we will see about that at our reception. ;)
