Both of them were studying abroad in London at separate schools. On February 19, 2019, they went to a cabaret show at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. At the end of the night, at the coat check, they noticed they were wearing the same outfit: black jeans, a white button-up, and a denim jacket. Sarah said, "I love your outfit," and Christina said, "American?" Then Abba started playing in the background. Everything that night worked out serendipitously to bring them together. Sarah was debating her outfit with her best friend Kali in her dorm room right before leaving, and Christina was just about to walk away from the bus that late to take her to the cabaret show, but it showed up the second she turned her back to leave. Sarah infiltrated her way into parts of Christina's two-week-long Europe trip before returning to the States. They traveled to Prague and Nice together. When they both flew back home, they decided to visit each other and had two trips planned. Christina would travel to California to see Sarah, and Sarah would travel to New Orleans to visit Christina at Tulane. They started their three-year-long distance relationship on August 3rd, 2019, traveling between California, Louisiana, New York, and Wisconsin. They finally moved in together in Madison, Wisconsin, when Sarah graduated from graduate school. In the span of their relationship, they have moved eight times and now call Long Island, New York, home.
