The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/formal.
Keep everything that will cooperate crossed that it will be sunny and beautiful! While chilly, it's normally sunny and very pleasant. Please note that the brief wedding ceremony will be held outside, weather permitting, so we suggest you bring a jacket or something to keep you warm during that time. There will be a coat check available immediately upon entry into the Cocktail Hour.
Why yes! They are all at The Umstead Hotel! The brief wedding ceremony will take place, weather permitting, on the lawn by the lake outside. Immediately following the ceremony, guests will be escorted to the Cocktail Hour. Dinner, dancing, and more merriment will take place in the Ballroom directly after that conclusion. Everything is wheelchair accessible.
Currently, per our event venue, guests who are unvaccinated must wear masks throughout the entirety of our evening celebration. For those who are vaccinated, masks will not be required during the ceremony or inside at the cocktail hour and reception.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
We have registered at four stores listed in our Registry Section (Macy's, Crate & Barrel, Ivy Cottage, and Zola) and thank you all in advance for your generosity. Having you all in our lives is gift enough, but we promise to make you a great cocktail in our new glasses and cook you a delicious meal with our new kitchen goodies. The house will also be well lit and clean, thanks to other parts of the registry!
Guests will be able to choose from a variety of delicious food stations throughout the ballroom, so there should be choices for everyone. Should you have a special dietary request, please feel free to email Christa so she can plan accordingly with The Umstead.
