Highly recommend this fun/challenging hike of section A. It leads you across rocky terrain and a steep climb along a cliff face of Mather Gorge. We love going here on dates to enjoy the views of MD and VA. Note, sections B and C of the trail are easier.
This quaint center of comfort for travelers opened in 1860 to serve those journeying to and from the Nation’s Capital. It has great food and atmosphere with a rich history. We definitely recommend visiting for yourself as it's only right down the road from the venue and across the Potomac River.
