Though we crossed paths many times, it wasn’t until after college that our love story truly began. We both attended Virginia Tech but never met until a few years after graduation, despite living just a few streets apart. In hindsight, we see how many moments we shared in the same places without even knowing it—whether we were walking to the same building for class, enjoying the same local spots, or attending the same football game just seats apart. It’s as though the universe was waiting for the right moment to bring us together. Our story took an even more extraordinary turn when we visited Sierra's grandparents for the first time after we started dating. As we sat with them, Sierra's grandfather unexpectedly pulled out his high school yearbook, with no particular reason in mind. As we flipped through the pages, Ross noticed a picture of a woman who resembled his grandmother. To our amazement, it turned out to be his great-grandmother—and she was Sierra’s grandfather’s high school English teacher! It was an amazing revelation that, years before we were born, our families had unknowingly intersected. The bond between us, it seems, had been quietly waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. Looking back, it feels like we were always meant to meet, even if it took us a few extra years to discover it. Our love feels like destiny, but it’s also a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best things take time to find. We are excited to celebrate this new chapter of our lives together, surrounded by the love and support of our amazing family and friends. And to make things even more special, we welcomed a new member into our family this past October—our playful puppy Tillie, who’s already stolen our hearts. We can’t wait to share this beautiful journey with all of you!
