She asks him to study together on the next test and they become friends for the duration of college. 2012 - Chris realizes that both he and Linda are single, and asks Linda out to a fancy dinner - 'just for fun'. They end up going to Ruth Chris' steakhouse in Sacramento - Linda ends up pairing a dessert wine with her steak. 2013 - They make it official after a dinner date in Sacramento. Chris drives Linda to Po'olenalena Beach under the guise of "Our dinner reservation got canceled because it's raining and they needed to move seating completely inside. While we're waiting, we might as well take pics for my sister since this used to be her favorite beach". In order to get to the 'spot', Chris and Linda pass by a drug deal (we're 95% sure), climb over lava rocks (scuffing new shoes along the way), and witness a naked baby running down the beach alongside a potentially homeless couple (they were the only ones there). Before sunset, Chris leads Linda down to the water, kneels, and proposes along the shore line. She claims she didn't see it coming.
