With love, Keith & Alicia “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22 NKJV
Our amusing tale kicked off almost four years ago when Keith and his daughter, in all his next-door glory, unintentionally became part of our sitcom. Little did he know, the proximity of their move turned us into the stars of an unexpected friendship between our daughters. In a plot twist – I initially avoided him like a pro dodgeball player. However, despite my avoidance, our kids' camaraderie became the thread weaving a tale of awkwardly quirky connections and shared laughter.
On January 6, 2024, on a freezing adventure up Mount Washington in New Hampshire, I decided to pop the question using the cog railway. As we ascended the icy peaks with amazing mountainous views, I realized proposing in what felt like sub-zero temperatures might not be the most romantic setting. In the midst of snowflakes, I mustered up the courage to pop the question. However, thanks to the freezing wind and snow on the ground, getting on one knee seemed more like an attempt to breakdance on an ice rink. So, there I was, in a scene straight out of a winter wonderland, proposing without the dramatic kneeling. Who needs tradition when you've got a snowy mountain and a cog railway as witnesses? Miraculously, she said yes, and we celebrated with hot cocoa, turning our frosty proposal into a tale of laughter, and a unique lack of knee-bending theatrics that she will never fail to remind me of.
