Found. That was the name of the Evanston restaurant where Alex and Clint had their first date on November 9th, 2016. They were both strangely nervous for their first date, though the nerves instantly vanished the moment they sat down to share their first of many great meals together. Alex, a Michigan native, decided to turn her passion for travel into a career as a flight attendant after graduating from Saint Xavier University in Chicago. And Clint, a Colorado native and recent Cornell University graduate, turned his passion for food into a career working in quality and food safety for Kraft Heinz. As unique and independent as Clint and Alex were as individuals, it became clear that they couldn’t live without each other after they kissed goodbye following their first date. Within two weeks, they were officially dating. And two weeks from that, they were on their way to Germany, the first of 20+ countries that they’ve since visited together. Travel and food have always been intricately woven into their lives and love story. Alex and Clint enjoy nothing more than exploring new parts of the world or cooking a new meal together. A few of their favorite trips include camping in the Wadi Rum Desert after exploring Petra, as well as hiking through the jungle temples of Angkor in Cambodia. As self proclaimed “Foodies”, Clint and Alex love trying the street foods in new countries, or honing in on their cooking skills through classes in places such as Cambodia and Turkey. After 2 years of adventures and countless date nights, Clint popped the question on a cloudless December day underneath the beautiful Christmas tree in Millennium Park. Alex and Clint celebrated with some of their closest friends in Evanston, following a romantic dinner where it all began. When the newly engaged couple sat down to their dinner in Found, the name of the restaurant had a whole new meaning. They had found their soulmates, and the person with whom they would spend the rest of their lives.
