Whether you're staying on the resort grounds, or staying off site but coming by on Sunday or Monday during the day, there will be games and an opportunity to swim (if weather permits) and to hike at your own leisure! With that, feel free to bring bathing suits, outdoor attire / tennis shoes, cameras, bug spray... etc! There are also stores in Morganton and Lenoir if you forget anything.
The best kind! It's a resort, so there is select onsite lodging (reserved for immediate family and wedding parties), but is about 20-25 minutes from Morganton where a majority of our guests will stay. All wedding attendees have full exclusive access to the resort grounds from Sunday evening through Wednesday morning! You can swim, hike, tube, bird watch, paint rocks, pet the farm animals, and disconnect. *Please note, service / cell reception is very limited at the venue. There may be wifi accessible in the common areas, but overall, please make sure all your communications are pre-arranged prior to arrival as it's not guaranteed you'll be able to get signal at Brown Mountain. (Surprise: that's the point!)
Both of our families are scattered across the country (some even overseas), so we really wanted to prioritize togetherness, and a more reunion-style wedding including all friends, old and new. Brown Mountain was the best place to make this happen!
Besides forcing you to take a break from work, BMBR books out extremely quickly and there were unfortunately no weekends available until early 2027.

That's up to you; the evening of the 20th, we have a welcome party that all are welcome to attend, then the full wedding will take place on the 21st. If you want to arrive early and explore the venue on the 20th before the festivities begin, feel free, otherwise we'll see you either the evening of the 20th or the 21st, as long as you remember to RSVP!
