Jacob and Veronica met in Missouri on November 15, 2018. Jacob was a Correctional Officer at Jackson County Detention Center in Kansas City and Veronica was working as a Direct Care Mentor at Shelterwood, a Christian Therapeutic Boarding School. Their first date was at Barnes and Noble and throughout the following year they fell in love and grew closer in their relationship. When Veronica's year at Shelterwood was coming to a close she had a decision to make: Stay at Shelterwood where she was comfortable and close to Jacob, or go back home and start working with a start-up non-profit through a previous employer. Jacob decided that if Veronica was going to move back to Florida, he would move too. Veronica moved back home in September 2019 and for a little over a year she tried helping Jacob find jobs in South Florida. Being long distance for over a year was difficult, but very fruitful for the growth and intentionality of their relationship. Due to the pandemic, Veronica had to find new job opportunities which led her to Calvary Chapel, her Church home for over 15 years. There was so much love and care for Veronica and Jacob from Calvary and they gave Jacob a job opportunity to manage the Warehouse in December of 2020. God orchestrated every moment of Jacob and Veronica's journey; from providing job opportunities in the same state, to surrounding them with friends, family, leaders, and mentors that would pour into them individually and as a couple. Jacob and Veronica are madly in love and excited to begin their lives as a married couple together! They are very thankful to God and for all the people who have been placed in their lives for their edification and preparation to love each other for a lifetime.
