TINDER WORKS! Both in Big Bear for the weekend. Each of us both had a friend that had the same idea of their own "let's see who is on Tinder here in the mountain". Luckily a girlfriend of mine and a friend of Kevin's both swiped RIGHT on each other and decided to meet that night. We were the accomplices to this TINDER meet up. Kevin offered me a drink and we exchanged numbers...BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER!! The next day we saw each other at the bottom of the mountain at the deck, I went up to him to say hello and all he was worried about was waiting for his friend to go back up the mountain LOL. After that it wasn't for another four months until we saw each other again. Two months later, I remember telling him "I'm going to end up with you" and he (in Kevin's way, not overly emotional but very honest) agreed. Oh and wait....when the next snow season came up, he was excited to go boarding with me but I laughed and just told him "I'm a great lodger and typically just shred the bunny hill a few times" hahaha his look on his face was hilarious as he explained that first time he saw me on the mountain he had thought I was a serious boarder based on how I was dressed and being out there when the snow wasn't great --- "Nope, I just dress the part" And here we are almost four years later, we are planning our wedding and I still shred that bunnyhill.
Kevin planned THE MOST memorable and amazing trip to Africa and Dubai with a daily itinerary - which is best for me as I don't do well with schedules or plans. Before we left for our first Safari, we stayed a few nights in South Africa as I wanted to see penguins so bad. On September 9, 2018 he planned a day trip around South Africa to the Cape of Good Hope with the ending destination Boulder Beach Penguin Colony. As we arrived to Boulder Beach, Kevin found an area of penguins that were away from all the tourists and suggested we go that way first. Finally getting as close as we could we sat down to admire these little guys, but three minutes later Kevin asks me to stand up, ugh "I just sat down, fine - help me up" He gave me the biggest hug, started telling me how happy he is and then I notice his voice is cracking and I see him lowering to his knew - I WAS IN SHOCK. It was a great shock, but honestly I lost my hearing and my heart wouldn't stop pounding and I said YES! Wow. After I stopped sobbing and crying, I asked him to do it over because I couldn't remember everything he said BUT he laughed and politely said NO, hahahha. Now here is the funny part, before Africa we made our stop in Dubai. I wanted a Henna so bad, and him telling me "no" isn't going to work for me. Kevin said he was happy that it was on my right hand as he watched the woman paint my hand but when she moved to the left hand he said "oh no - oh no" but he couldn't stop it at that point. He was hoping she would stop at my ring finger but NOPE! After the proposal we laughed because that's what I get for not letting him tell me what to do :) I had this beautiful ring with a full henna hand but it didn't matter because these penguins are mates for a lifetime.
