FAQs

Question

What should I expect?

Answer

We are getting married mid-mountain, which means you will be riding the chairlift up to get to the venue! You will first gather at 6th Alley restaurant at the base. Feel free to grab a drink here if you’d like! The venue team will direct you onto the chairlift once ready. The walk from the lift to the lodge is all paved. The same way up is how you will come down.

Question

What is the dress attire?

Answer

We kindly ask for a formal dress code. Ladies please wear full-length formal dresses and ensure your shoes are strapped and secure as you ride the chairlift up. Gentlemen please wear a formal suit or dress pants and sport coats. The mountains can get chilly when the sun goes down, so you may want to consider bringing a jacket as well. The wedding colors will be shades of blue, so please feel free to join in! Here is some more inspiration: https://pin.it/44MkDTgdZ

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Kids are welcome to join us for wedding festivities such as the welcome party and exploring Breckenridge throughout the weekend but we respectfully request that the ceremony and reception remain a 21+ event. We hope you will enjoy this brief time away to celebrate with us!

Question

How do I avoid getting altitude sickness?

Answer

Black Mountain Lodge is at 11,500 ft elevation (Denver is 5,280 ft). Please remember to eat and drink lots of water and if you plan to consume alcoholic beverages. If you're still feeling it, don't worry, we will provide you with some portable oxygen :)

Question

Will there be parking/ transportation?

Answer

Yes! There is free overnight parking at the base and we will have shuttles to ensure everyone's safety back to Breckenridge at the end of the night. If you do not wish to park your vehicle, we recommend scheduling ahead of time a ride share service such as uber or Lyft to get to the venue.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation for details! Due to limited space, we’re only able to accommodate the individuals listed.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

It is common for little storms to come and go in the mountains, but rest be assured we will be prepared for all weather! A-Basin will supply ponchos in the event of rain and if the weather is unrelenting, the ceremony and reception can be held within the lodge. No matter the weather, we hope this will be fun and memorable for everyone!
