It all started on Apex Legends. I was deep into a match when we got stuck with a teammate who, let's just say, wasn’t exactly helping us win. Flacito Gibby—his name still cracks me up—was a bit of a disaster. He made us lose, but then there was mars1859. He was different. Cool, funny, and just laid-back in a way that made me want to team up with him again. So, after that game, I decided to send him an Xbox party invite. What followed was something out of a comedy sketch. We both kept inviting and joining each other’s Xbox parties at the same time—over and over—for nearly two minutes, each of us too stubborn to join the other’s first. It felt like the universe was playing its own little game with us. Finally, I joined his party, and in that moment, I thought to myself, this guy is going to be my boyfriend. We started gaming together every chance we got, but it didn’t stop there. Sleepless nights turned into endless hours of talking—laughing, joking, and sharing stories while we played. Before we knew it, our Apex sessions led to long phone calls that stretched into the early morning hours. We’d fall asleep on the phone, only to wake up and pick up right where we left off. We got so close that we’d finish each other’s sentences, almost like we were living in sync without even trying. It became clear that we were the definition of “opposites attract.” We’re different in so many ways, but we fit perfectly together, like two puzzle pieces that were meant to be. He’s my ying to my yang, my salt to my pepper, my peanut butter to my jelly. We balance each other in a way that makes everything feel just right. Five years later, we’re about to start a brand-new chapter of our lives as husband and wife. And even though we’ve shared so many amazing moments along the way, I still get that same feeling I had when I first met him: this guy is the one.
