We're Going Micro

March 26, 2022

Due to the current climate and for everyone's safety we have decided to have an intimate ceremony with our immediate family only. We are trusting the science and following the CDC projections that COVID-19 will be on the decline by fall 2022, in which we will celebrate with our extended family and friends with a traditional wedding reception on October 8th 2022.

Our Story

This story goes back somewhere between 2005 and 2006 Mardi Gras season in Mobile, Alabama. During this time, Lauren’s best friend at the time was dating Clement’s first cousin. Lauren and her best friend decided to go downtown to a parade, where they ran into Clement and his cousin. Lauren later learned that Clement wanted to “talk “to her but, Lauren was not interested at this time. Lauren was still in the “shy around the opposite sex stage”. Clement and Lauren went on to have small interactions throughout high school and some interaction via social media during college. Lauren can recall that Clement’s cousin throughout the years would always throw hints that Clement never lost interest in her. Lauren brushed it off because she was not interested in dating anyone during this time and they both went on with their separate lives. Fast forward to around 2011/2012, Lauren and Clement began texting off and on during college but eventually fell off for reasons unknown. Clement reached out one last time in 2013 but something was different this time and the two started communicating daily for over a year while Clement was in Baton Rouge preparing to graduate with his B.A and Lauren was in Huntsville, AL attending graduate school. On July 12, 2014, Lauren and Clement went on their first date to Six Flags and Clement later asked Lauren to be his girlfriend that night and Lauren said yes. Lauren and Clement remained in a long distant relationship for almost four years until Lauren relocated to Georgia in 2017 and the rest is history.

The Proposal

Lauren had this thing that she didn’t want to marry until she was at least 30 years old and if proposed to on a holiday it would have to be Halloween. Clement took a mental note of this and was planning on proposing at their Halloween party in 2021. However, Clement’s family were planning a family trip to Maui, HI. At this point, Clement began to debate on whether to propose to Lauren in Hawaii or on Halloween. Before the trip to Maui, Lauren wanted to go on a tour called “Road to Hana” so she could see the whole island and specifically Black Sand Beach. With Lauren continuously mentioning black sand beach, Clement knew that he had to pop the question during this tour. Without Lauren knowing, Clement asked a guy that was on the tour who was also from Atlanta to take his phone to get a picture of the special moment. While Lauren was enjoying the beauty of the island, Clement grabbed Lauren’s hand and asked one question, “Will you marry me”. Lauren smiled and said yes. The couple was surrounded by cheers from on lookers. September 19, 2021 marked a new chapter in the couples lives and they are beyond excited to be on this journey together.
