Paris is a city made for walking, and we recommend seeing it that way!
Super easy! We highly recommend taking the metro when walking is too far. It's clean, economical (less than $2 one way- no matter how far and drops in price per ticket if you buy bundles of ten), the most reliable, and it is extremely easy and approachable! If you have questions on your destination, the service people are always there to help. Be sure to download google maps or citymapper, which will tell you exactly which subway to take and exits to get off at!
Yes! Ubers work the same way in Paris as you would use them at home. Just open your app and be on your way!
Be sure to call your service provider (Sprint, Verizon, At&t) and let them know where you're traveling to. They will likely email you a set of directions, or on the phone they'll walk through it with you, on how to enable your phone to work while abroad. Downloading the app Whatsapp can be popular for free texting, as well.
First: Contact your bank to let them know where you're traveling to so they don't cut off your card. Second: Be aware of your cards (bank or credit card) foreign use policies. Most institutions charge a 3% transaction fee, but some institutions like American Express or Charles Swab may not have transaction or ATM fees. If you're using cash, be sure to exchange it (your bank can do this) ahead of time so you're set once you arrive!
We recommend taking an official taxi cab directly to your accommodations. CDG has been about a 45 minute taxi ride each time and is a flat $50 charge to anywhere on the right bank and flat $55 charge to anywhere on the left bank.
None! Of course it's courteous to make an effort, but people in all the main tourist areas know English!

We understand not everyone is able to make it to Paris and that's the reason we're holding a reception in Menlo Park, CA on July 27, 2019- so we can join together and everyone is included!
