They always say your third love is the one that comes in unexpectedly and surprises you. That couldn’t be more true for us. I was a senior in high school and had 2 months left until I graduated and was ready to go off to college. Clay messaged me on Facebook and the rest was history. Never in a million years did I think we would make it with being in a long distance relationship, but here we are 6 years and a child later. Clay is my absolute best friend and my person and I’m so thankful he came in my life when he did!

We flew out to California to visit Clays brother and on the last day there, we visited Carmel beach. There was a bottle in the sand and I didn’t see it and walked right passed it! Clay had Cainen bring the bottle over to me. It had a note in it and I thought it was the coolest thing. I legit thought that he had found a note in a bottle that had washed up on shore that was from someone else. I opened the bottle and the note read, “My soul has always been lost at sea, until you came along. Will you marry me?” When I read it, I thought someone had gotten engaged and left the bottle or never seen it. I never expected that Clay could pull off something that romantic.. until I turned around and he was on one knee! Of course I cried and said yes! Everyone there was videoing us and I never knew it! I was totally surprised in the BEST way!
