Wedding Party

Mack Clay

Man of Honor

Rockin' it since 1998. This kid has been a showman since birth and the family attention-hog. He's a Kansas City boy living in a Nashville world and absolutely killin it. He has been my opponent, confidant, and pawn for manipulation, in the way only siblings can be. Despite our five-year age gap, we still managed to be close, and the amount of times people think we are twins is astonishing. Not every big sister gets a brother and a friend, and I can't wait to have him as my Man of Honor. Love ya Bro!

Jacob Bolte

Best Man

Jacob Bolte is Nate’s life-long best friend. Categorically. Unconditionally. Since the age of six these two have been inseparable, insufferable and incurably committed to each other. Bonding first over their strange, shared humors, the two have grown up together in ways deeper, and goofier, than either can give voice. If you’re looking, you’ll find Jacob near the bar, Coors Light in hand, or avoiding the dance floor until the Hank Jr. comes on. Talk about ‘For better or worse’!

Cydney Chibnall

Bestie, Traveler

All the way from Paris, France, this Parisian is slumming it with the peasants back here in KC. I'm lucky to have a best friend that would travel across the globe to be in my wedding, even if she now says jumper instead of sweater. She's a world traveler, she's a big ol' smarty pants, and she'll give you some tough love when you need it. She's been keepin me honest since before high school. Love ya Chibs!

Keegan Bordeaux

Brother of the Groom

If you at all like the way this groom turned out (and even if you don’t), there are few, if any, who can claim more responsibility than his big brother, Keegan. Five years Nate’s senior, Keegan has always been a guiding example and an abiding friend, a companion from birth who’s given the groom some of his best qualities and most-lasting memories. Should you discover yourself opposite Keegan at the ping pong table, good luck.

Alyson McNaghten

Bestie, Aesthete

From the rec soccer field with the Green Queen Aliens, to attempting adulthood, Aly has been there through thick and thin. She's always there when you need her...just 15 minutes late. I'm lucky to have a best friend that really knows me and reminds me to wash my face when I wear makeup. She has a big heart, creative mind, and incredible wit. We've been singing harmonies together since we met. Love ya Aly!

Charlee Sindelar

Sister of the Groom

What can be said of the baby in the family but that she is the baby and will, therefore, always hold a special place in our hearts? Charlee Sindelar is among the most magical and charming members of this clan. Charismatic, smarter somehow than both of her brothers, and often highly amusing: she is the prototypical third child. Watch for her on the dance floor, at the epicenter of any group laughter, or at the bar, ice clinking in a glass of Tito’s & soda. Dare ya’ to keep up.

Dwight Brown III

Friend, Multi-talent

The fastest feet this side of the Mississippi and Mr. Archduke of Funk himself. Dwight is a runner/cyclist extraordinaire and an amazing artist. We became fast friends after Kekeli introduced Dwight into our little friend group, freshman year of college. Dwight and I were roommates for 3 years and experienced all the growth that comes with college era living, including multiple calls to animal control. Catch this party animal on the dance floor!

Lacie (Tewes) Bolte

Friend, Family

There are two kinds of people in this wedding party: those with whom Nate bonded during college, and those who’ve known him all his life. Lacie Tewes belongs firmly among the latter. Brilliant, generous and level-headed to a degree that belies her upbringing on the wild plains of Malcolm, Nebraska, Lacie is a gem among this motley crew. Her friendship, commitment and empathy are well more than either Nate or that husband of hers, Jacob, deserve. The boys are lucky to have her!

Kekeli Dawes

Friend, Thinker

Oh Kekeli, the man of many words. The friend that brings friends together (most of the time). Kekeli and I met at a show, starting silly dance moves until others followed along. He would often ask us to watch bad movies with him, and immediately fall asleep. But when he's awake, there is nothing better than a discussion about art with Kekeli, and his joy fills up a room. Funny enough, he was a reporter with Nate at the UNL newspaper but failed—on multiple occasions—to introduce us. I guess it was for the best!

Jared Yoesel

Friend, Instigator

Jared Yoesel is a man of dichotomies. The city life, the farming life. The traveler and the homebody. At times Jared’s behavior can wax inexplicable—barbarous even—and at others he is a sweetheart beyond compare. Somehow both the cleanest among the boys in the college house and the most outrageously filthy, Jared is capable of surprise at every turn. A voice of reason, the source of our worst collective ideas. If you’re looking, well, just look out. Honestly. For all of us. Please keep an eye on him.

Mitch Benson

Friend, Bard

Mitch is nothing if not enthusiastic. This hooligan could keep inanimate objects entertained with his stories and unending drinking games. He is a storyteller at heart, a stellar musician, and surprisingly organized. I feel honored to have written music (and performed, and partied) alongside him. There is nothing like the bond of pouring your soul into music and getting paid in drinks. Whatever you do though, don't challenge Mitch to a shitty beer taste off - he will win.

Caleb Engel

Friend, Foil

Caleb Engel. Cal to friends. The old man among the 916 Y Street boys. There’s no one in this wedding party better at laughing at themself than this specimen. And who wouldn’t be, considering what they put him through? While no one in the house escaped without feeling the barb of the others’ humor, Cal endured more than his share, and did so with grace and dignity. And so it must now be rectified. It must be stated out loud and in public. Cal’s patience is Sisyphean. His charm felt throughout a room, his good looks indisputable—like the lite-beer version of every blond Hollywood hunk you’ve ever seen. Cal, the boys salute you. One more time with feeling, y’all. SAIL!

Ian Wright

Friend, Wild Card

This stoic bassist is hard to spot in the wild. He's quiet and unassuming, but if you listen, you may just catch one of his off the wall jokes or his stinging sarcasm. As a founding member of your friendly neighborhood folk trio, Ian played for drinks like the rest of us heathens. His thoughtful musicianship made all our songs come together, and helped translate my "that one and that one" into actual notes. If you get him drunk enough, he might bring out his toga.

Ryan Oaks

Friend, Inspiration

For the person who spent the least time among these old boys, there is no one more essential to their friendship than Ryan Oaks. His sense of humor and generosity of spirit taught them all something about becoming better, fuller people. His capacity for debauchery shocked them and offered a case study in the surprising multiplicities of human beings. While he may have left early in their tenure and was gone for years, Oaks always remained with the boys in one form or another: in the stories told, in the lessons learned, and in the love they share today.

Nathan Hansen

Friend, Collaborator

Part man. Part fortune cookie, and an artist to boot, Nathan Hansen sits at one end of this group’s strange spectrum. Eccentric, springy, and demonstrating a flare for the dramatic, Nathan has for years enlivened these friendships and brought to them a singular personality. Through his high-flying LA ways, the 916 boys have all gotten a taste of the movies, acting in his films, allowing their home to be converted into all-night sets. Unmistakable with his red hair. Unmistakable with his dance moves. If you find yourself compelled to buy this man a drink, we don’t blame you. Just make it a Martinellis. Neat.
