Mr. + Mrs.

Like a lot of 2020 stories, ours began on Zoom (thanks, Covid). We finally met in person at a brewery with classmates from our master’s program. That same day, Clay’s roommate Michael, now groomsman, turned to him and said, “She’s definitely your type.” Safe to say, he called it. Not long after, Clay asked Shelley if “Shelley” was short for something. When she asked how long he’d been wondering that, he admitted, “A while.” Cue Shelley blushing, going completely silent, and Clay getting a good laugh out of it. Our first date was just as memorable! Clay came over to cook dinner… and Shelley’s AC broke. With fans running and maintenance in and out, it was basically a sauna, but somehow it still ended up being a perfect night. Since then, life’s been full of adventures: adopting Pippin just two months in, later adding Loki to the mix, traveling everywhere from Colorado to New York to the Dominican Republic, and cheering each other on through medical school and PA school, even when it meant two years of long distance. From broken ACs to puppies to late-night FaceTimes and now a move to Salt Lake City, Utah for Clay's internal medicine residency, we’ve had a lot of chaos and a lot of joy.. and now we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!!
