The three listed hotels are very accessible. There are lots of other places in the area to stay but you will have to get a boat taxi to get to us and that will add up in time and money quickly! So we don't recommend it.
All three of the hotels we mentioned have restaurants but we do suggest you get some snacks in town. There is a small store on the island for essentials.
Bocas del Toro is one on the places we have traveled together. While falling in love we also fell in love with its Caribbean vibe, breathtaking beaches and jungles. Oh... and Also Avery's mom works for Red Frog Beach Resort.
Nope, Panama utilizes US paper currency. They do have their own coins including a large dollar coin called the Balboa, also the name of one of the national beers, we will buy you one at the wedding. :)
Short answer - Its F*&%ing HOT! Panama is a rainforest that gets over 140 inches of rain per year, luckily 120 inches of that fall after dark. October is know for sunny days with calm seas that will take your breath away. AND don't worry Panama is below the hurricane belt so no need to worry about hurricanes.
For the wedding we recommend beach dressy. Sun dresses, dress shorts, linen and sandals are all good ideas. We don't suggest high heals. For the rest of the trip a list of a few essentials includes swimwear, sunscreen, sun glasses, shorts, bug spray, raincoat, flip-flops, sun hat & passport.
While some Spanish skills are helpful they certainly are not required. Many people speak English in Panama. *remember the 2 most important words in any language are Please and Thank You! o Gracias y (and) Por Favor
Red Frog Beach Resort is part of a primary rainforest and neighbor to the Bastimentos National Marine Park. It is home to Monkeys, Sloths, Ant Eaters, Tapirs, marsupials (possum) over 140 species of tropical birds and the most interesting insects
Our wedding will be on the 12th so we recommend our guests arrive on the 10th or the 11th. We will plan some fun group events for those who want to join in the days post wedding. You can also extend your trip to other parts of Panama if you like. Panama is an extraordinary country.
There are no longer ANY Covid restrictions to enter or move about in Panama. There are no other required imunizations although we suggest checking into Hepatitis and Typhoid fever vaccines if it's right for you.
