Our Story
How we met
One day Aurélien decided to change his Tinder bio from a detailed CV to a single but special line: "You are a magician, Harry, and a damn good one"... Which led Claudia to swipe right. As this took place during the Covid crisis, seeing new people wasn’t easy. Messages were exchanged for almost a month until, following a shift in regulation, they could finally meet. It happened the day before Claudia's birthday, at a bar on top of Mont des Arts in Brussels. When they met she realized that he was a bit fancier than the nerd she had come to expect and he realized that she was more than he had ever wished for. They both did their best to hide these fiery feelings and took advantage of the lifted travel bans to go their own way with their respective friends. Nearly a month after this first date they managed to meet again and, when they did, sitting on the floor of the Grand Place eating mediocre Mexican food, it was like they already knew each other for many years.
The Proposal - first attempt
Aurélien got Claudia's ring in July during a visit to her family in Bolivia. The stone that she wanted was highly symbolic: the bolivianita displays a mix of purple and yellow, Claudia and Aurélien’s favorite colours and, as the name suggests, can only be found in Bolivia. With the help of Claudia’s family, he managed to acquire the ring and secretively move it to Brussels where he pondered for weeks on the perfect proposal. On the 14th of December, at the start of a lovely date, sitting on the steps where they first met, he told her about his undying love, took out the ring and uttered the words “Does it fit?”. She said yes and they happily proceeded to their favourite Brazilian restaurant. A beautiful night which ended with him, playing his favorite video game and her, slowly falling asleep with a creeping sense of trouble.
The Proposal - Let's make it perfect this time
As this was clearly not the right way to ask her hand to a lady of the world, a formal request was made for a re-do. As Aurélien always strives to meet the requirements of the business, be it at home or at work, he obliged. This second attempt was made by the book on a beach in Malta, during her birthday holidays, with a diamond ring and a knee in the sand. With his deepest voice he finally asked the right question. Will you marry me ? And she said yes again. This is why, dear family and friends, we are going to party.
