Yes, we’re hosting a few optional events for guests who would like to join in. On Thursday, March 13th, we’ll have a welcome drinks gathering. On Friday, there will be two exciting activities to choose from: - Mitch will be leading a beach beers and surf lesson sessions at playa carrizalillo - Claudia will be hosting a pool party for the ladies at Niku House. Please RSVP to the events you’d like to participate in so we can get an estimate of numbers. Transportation has been arranged for the events on Friday, and on the day of the wedding.
There are no direct flights from Toronto to Puerto Escondido. The best way to reach Puerto Escondido is by flying to Mexico City first and then taking a short, direct flight from Mexico City to Puerto Escondido. The connecting flight is about an hour long. Alternatively you can find some direct flights to Huatulco International Airport, but it is about a 1.5 - 2 hr drive to Puerto Escondido so you will have to arrange for ground transport.
You have a few options for getting around Puerto Escondido. Renting a scooter or a car is easy, with most major car rental companies like Hertz, Fox, and FireFly located at the airport. We had a great experience renting a scooter from Roberto's Eco Tours—they offer excellent service and competitive pricing (robertsecotours.com). Taxis are also available but can be quite pricey, so it's best to plan your transportation in advance. Please note that Uber is not available in Puerto Escondido, so arranging travel ahead of time is recommended.
There are no big hotel chains in Puerto Escondido, so we recommend booking your stay through Airbnb. You'll find many charming boutique hotels in great locations on the site. Check out our list of recommendations on the Travel tab for some excellent options. We suggest staying in La Punta, near Playa Zicatela, which is the most vibrant area with plenty of amenities and a beautiful beach. La Punta is also the southernmost part of Puerto Escondido, making it the closest to Niku House, just a 20-minute drive away.
The wedding will be hosted at Niku House, a stunning private beachfront villa nestled along the coast. The ceremony will take place on the beach at sunset, offering a beautiful and intimate setting for our nuptials! Niku House is located about a 20-minute drive from La Punta, the main area in Puerto Escondido. For more details about the villa, you can visit their website.
Yes - we will arrange for a shuttle to pick up guests in La Punta near playa Zicatela before the Ceremony, and we will have the same shuttle take guests back to their hotels at the end of the evening.
Please RSVP by November 1st.
The dress code for our wedding is Resort Formal with a touch of James Bond at the beach. We encourage guests to embrace elegant yet relaxed attire that suits the beautiful villa setting. Ladies, think chic cocktail dresses or flowy maxi dresses paired with stylish accessories. Gentlemen can opt for light suits or dress shirts. Dress to impress at Niku House while capturing the sophisticated, surfside ambiance.
