Not all of 2020 was terrible...It's what helped start the relationship of Luke and Kaitlyn. The couple met in July of 2020 at Pooles Island Brewing Company. They shut the brewery down, shooting the breeze on just about everything. It was so easy. Finally, after three years together, on October 9, 2023, Luke decided to make it "officially official" by putting a ring on it. It was a beautiful day on Assateague Island - a favorite location for the couple to camp, hike, and disconnect. Around sunset, Luke had decided to "build" a fire for dinner. He had mentioned that his lighter was "not working" and needed Kaitlyn to pick up a "lighter" for him on the table nearby. It was not a lighter but a wooden box engraved with "the adventure begins." After picking up this box, Kaitlyn noticed Luke on one knee, in his waders, with a giant grin on his face. He asked the magic words and she said the easiest "yes".
