Biking / Hiking / Kayaking / Golfing

Biking: The T.A.R.T. Trail is ~20 miles from Traverse City to Sutton’s Bay and back. Along the trail, there is a winery (Shady Lane). At the end of the trail near Sutton’s Bay is Hoplot Brewery for beer and lunch! Hiking: The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is ~25 miles from Traverse City. If you are looking for a short hike, we recommend Empire Bluff (~1 mile) with an amazing view of the dunes and Lake Michigan. Kayaking: You can kayak the Boardman River, East Bay or West Bay. There’s also options for Kayak Brewery tours through The River Outfitters Company. Golfing: The Grand Traverse Resort has 3 golf courses on the property. Call 231-534-6000 to book a tee time.
