Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Julie Clark and Robert Heebner
We are so excited to share some of our favorite things in the area with you! If you are coming for a more extended time please feel free to ask for some more recommendations (well in advance of the wedding if you want a detailed response!) If you have not been to Canada yet.. bring your passport! You can drive across the Ambassador Bridge and back through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (Julie once ran this route as part of the one and only half-marathon she participated in).

Detroit Riverfront Conservancy

600 Renaissance Center, Detroit, MI 48243

Check out the Riverfront Conservancy website to see multiple things to do Downtown along the River!

Eastern Market

2934 Russell Street, Detroit, MI 48207

If you have the desire to walk around a large farmers market on Saturday morning prior to the wedding this is the place. Starting at Eastern Market you can also walk the Dequindre Cut - now a greenway but previously a portion of the Grand Trunk Railroad Line.

One-Eyed Betty's

175 West Troy Street, Ferndale, MI 48220

We went here on our first date! Rob was already known as a regular, but Julie is now as well. Some of our favorites include the BLT, Betty Burger, and Pork Belly Poutine.

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation

20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

Obviously we are fans of the museum as the wedding is at the museum.. It is a large museum with so much to see and you won't be sad for any extra time.

Greenfield Village

20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

Greenfield Village is on the same property as the museum but is a separate attraction. Step foot in the lab where Thomas Edison had his lightbulb moment or the workshop where the Wright brothers taught us to reach for the sky. One of our favorite things is to watch the live demonstrations of glass blowing.

Kensington Metropark

4570 Huron River Parkway, Milford, MI 48380

For those of you wanting some outdoor time if the weather permits!

Sabbath Coffee Roasters

24 East 14 Mile Road, Clawson, MI 48017

This is one of our favorite places for coffee and we may indulge a little too often as it is a short walk from our house! It's a good place to start if you want to explore Clawson a little bit or some of the other surrounding small downtowns like Royal Oak, Birmingham, Berkley, and Ferndale!
