Our paths began in different places and times. Clark growing up in Stockton and Yvette spending most of her life in San Diego. Their lives took them on many adventures, separately. Clark embarked on a journey to become one of the few African American executives in the Silicon Valley as well as maybe the greatest adventure of all, being a father. Yvette's independent nature took her to Sacramento where she fulfilled her career goal of becoming a school counselor as well as a singer in a band. Years go by. One day their worlds changed. Clark's smile became even brighter and Yvette realized there was something meant for her bigger than anything she could have ever dreamed of. Yvette's words: We met at Bandera on a Friday evening. We talked about how there are 4 boys in his family and 4 girls in mine. We had so much in common and I couldn't wait to go on another date where I could get to know him more! With every new date, every encounter, with us meeting each other's friends and family...it began to sink in that this man was different. He felt OFF THE CHARTS special. All of a sudden, "You know when you know" seemed to make sense for the first time. Clark's words: We met at Banderas and I knew from the moment I met her that my life would never be the same. There she was standing in front of me. This beautiful soul. Not only was she beautiful on the outside but even more beautiful on the inside. Halfway through our 3 hour conversation, I was already thinking about when I would see her again. Upon saying goodbye for the evening I made sure to kiss her gently on the lips, thus escaping the friend zone because friends don't kiss :) She drove away and I knew right then and there that she was the love I had been searching for my whole life.
