To God be The Utmost Glory
Clark's prayer I asked God to bless me with someone I could love, and care for—someone who is full of faith, loving, and dedicated to their duties inside the church. God answered and blessed me with a beautiful, loving and God fearing significant other. Dianna's Prayer During the time we first moved here in Regina, it was hard adjusting. I was struggling and I prayed for God to give me happiness and peace in my heart. The Almighty gave me so much more. He blessed me with a lifetime partner, someone who makes me look forward to tomorrow, every single day.
Butterflies
The year full of butterflies. Our first encounter, our first text msg, our first conversation and a first date that turned into many more. It truly felt like the beginning of everything. March 11th was the day we went out on our first date. Where we both felt awkward at first, but became more comfortable as the day went by. Fast forward to July 11th, a rainy day. We went on a boat tour around Wascana followed by a flight tour over the city where I asked her the question and we became official! From these beautiful beginnings, our story continues and every step we take together reminds me that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be - by her side.
Milestones and Challenges
The year that Dianna graduated in highschool with high honors and top it off, she got into NURSING school! I could not have been more proud of her. All her hard work has truly paid off. Ang galing galing mo mahal!! The same year I, moved to Saskatoon for school. A part of me was being torn apart and I’m sure Dianna felt the same. We both knew that long distance relationship would be tough, but both of us had a clear mind, we both wanted to make our parents proud and in the end it will all be worth it. (Nurse and Pilot perfect combo haha) We knew from the start that we would be needing to do long distance due to Clark's school in Saskatoon - we didn't know that the pandemic would also make seeing each other difficult. Yet, we found comfort in the little things—studying completely different subjects while staying on a video call, sharing late-night dinners, and watching movies together, even if it was from a distance. I remember someone saying that we might get tired of each other. But our video calls helped us stay together and feel connected. It was tough being long distance for years but Clark made sure to make me feel his love each and every day. I am so proud of Clark for being strong - moving alone in Saskatoon without knowing anyone other than a few church members. He learned how to cook, live by himself, and how to manage great responsibilities. On top of that, he always prioritized God and his family. I am truly blessed to have an amazing partner.
Time Together
With the pandemic still going on, all of our classes got moved online, which means Clark can stay in Regina! We were both working students this time, and so our dates would be studying at libraries and cafes, shout out to Southland Library and Utopia. When Clark worked around the city, he would message me to look outside and he would stop by just to say hi and give me the warmest hug. And my favourite from this time was when we would perform together as choir members in the church - he would pick me up for all practices and performances. Yours truly, Clark's Disney princess
Long Distance again
I moved back to Saskatoon in 2022 as classes resumed back in person and graduated the same year. I decided to stay in Saskatoon to start my career in my field of work. Within those years there were times where I definitely felt lonely and homesick. Dianna was my source of strength through those hard times. Her morning text messages always put a smile on my face and get me through the day. Our study calls and random conversations that would last for hours kept me away from feeling lonely. And I'm still in Regina. Thinking of ways how I can transfer my studies in Saskatoon hahah. But of course it wouldn’t be allowed, I’m just a baby! 2022, my clinical rotations and nursing classes were stressing me out, as they did each year. But Clark always took away my stress. He always found ways to make me happy and forget everything else. Our calls before going to bed made me feel like everything was going to be okay. I looked forward to all the weekends he can come home, even if it’s just a hug. Sometimes when Clark and his friends do a quick flight from Saskatoon to Regina. I would rush to the airport just to see him for a bit. Those memories are very special in our hearts.
A Time of Maturity
This year would be the time when we were thinking hard about our future, our plans, and our dreams. Did our dreams align with each other's timeline? We prayed hard, still sticking with our 10PM panata that we started back in 2019. Honestly, we were tired of thinking about still being in a long-distance relationship. But through our prayers, The Almighty reminded us of something. Why we stayed strong together all those years. Why we were able to brave everything that happened in our lives. Why we are still together. We were God's blessing for each other. We were each other's answered prayers. We focused on our achieving our career goals and promised each other a better tomorrow.
Big Year for Us
After working in the Flight Operations department, with God’s grace I was given the opportunity to join the flight line. After my check ride in Denver, I decided that it was finally time to propose to the girl of my dreams and make her mine! Shortly after Dianna also finished her school and passed her NCLEX, seeing how dedicated Dianna was in her church duties while pursuing her career goals truly is inspirational. You never stop to amaze me and I'm endlessly grateful for you. Ahhhhhh! My lovey is now an Airline Pilot! All those years of hard work, studying, living away from home, and tears - you’ve made it baby! I am so so so very proud of you!! You did so great! And with God’s grace you were even able to perform your office in Church. This year was also filled with personal challenges but it was a year full of blessings. I finished school, we got engaged!!, passed my NCLEX, now working in Mother Baby Unit as a registered nurse, and we’re excitedly (stressed) preparing for our wedding!
