Ride with the Mob

Meet the EXCEPTIONAL people in our lives who will be walking down the aisle with us!

Aris Noerhadi

Best Man

Aristya Mahendra Noerhadi. Likes being called “Aris” because go-jek drivers mistake “Aristya” for being a girl. Unfortunately, circa the release of the hit web-series Layangan Putus, being called “Aris” makes him sound like a perv. Which may not be better. Honestly there’s not much I can say about Aris that I can’t also say about Clarissa. If I preferred brown men to chinese girls, Viera would have some competition. We complement each other, we have somewhat polar opposite personalities, and there’s always an undertone of him kind of being my boss in whatever situation we are in together. Regardless, I don’t think there’s anyone who is a better fit to be my Best Man than Aris. Dude always pushes the standards up. I expect much from you, Best Man. Don’t disappoint. Full pressure.

Ferrona Lie

Maid of Honor

Rona is the first person who truly made me believe in soulmates - she finishes my sentences, gives voice to my thoughts and understands me like nobody else. We were two oddballs in Big Ten engineering schools drifting towards each other in the cold, barren crucible of the Midwest. While I have always been a little unconventional, Rona is pretty fucking eccentric by any standards. Nobody else I know would pursue her passion for geriatrics after a top-tier MBA. Like literally nobody. Our friendship is fittingly unorthodox - we can easily go months without speaking, meet about once a year (if we're lucky) and may never live on the same continent again, but the affection & adoration we have for each other is singular and irreplaceable. Ron, you are my ultimate person. What is this day without you?

Barisa Abidin

Groomsman

Is such a good boi. Is there a better boi than Bar? I don’t think so. He’s a good boi. I’ve watched him grow from a little, shy, insecure teenager into a confident, entrepreneurial, kind-hearted man. In fact, I think he may be an even better man than I. Bar keeps me grounded and reminds me that a life best lived isn’t defined by external forces - the only people you need to keep in mind when deciding how to live your life are yourself and the ones you love. He is also a reminder that you can get drunk to the point of throwing up all over yourself and getting hauled off by an ambulance for alcohol poisoning and still be a good boi. Stay Real, Bar. Such a good boi.

Melissa Widjaja

Bridesmaid

Imel is our ditzy princess with a heart of gold. Her bimbotic antics & extreme naïveté have proven to be a trusted source of constant entertainment to our friend group for over a decade, which is a tad ironic because the rest of her is so notoriously unreliable. Even so, to the lucky few she keeps close, she is deeply loyal, relentlessly kind & yielding to a fault. She also happens to be absolutely, strikingly, drop-dead gorgeous, and I have resorted to leaving my wallet at home whenever we go out because everyone ends up falling over themselves trying to buy her drinks anyway (and all of us benefit!) Thank you Mel for all the humor, beauty & free shots you bring 😄 everything is easier & happier with you. I literally can't imagine this day (or my life) without laughing with (and lets be real - laughing at) you!

Tim Prawiro

Groomsman

AKA Renegade, AKA Pump Daddy, AKA Lil-G’s Daddy, AKA Loan Shark, AKA The Mustachioed Chinaman (I don’t make up these names) AKA Gracia’s Bitch, AKA Captain Atlas, AKA the person who brought the friend group together and keeps it together. Tim’s the guy who is willing to be the first person who opens up his heart and home to other people, and is willing to reach out to you in order to form bonds with new friends. I don’t think I would have had a healthy social life past the age of 25 if I hadn’t met Renegade. He’s also a good time if you slip him 5 bucks. We love you, Pump Daddy.

Vanessa Raharjo

Bridesmaid

Yaya has been taking care of us as far back as I can remember. Long before she became an actual, biological mother, she was the mother figure of our group: ever solicitous, infinitely loving, and always on top of her shit. We feel free to kick back and rest easy whenever she's around. She is also our unswerving moral compass, which begs the question as to why she's tolerated me and my dragging her into moral gray areas for the better part of the last 14 years 😛 Whatever the reason, I'm terribly grateful for it - Ya, your warmth, enormous capacity to love and fierce devotion to your nearest & dearest inspire me every day. Thank you for guiding me through wedding planning just like you've guided me through the worst of life's dilemmas. Gemma is a lucky daughter and I am a lucky friend, I treasure you ❤️

Peter Lunando

Groomsman

(Pronounced “petter”) Is the one who sets you straight. Of all the people in the world, only Pet (and perhaps Clarissa) doesn’t give a flying fuck about hurting my feelings as long as he is able to tell me what he truly thinks. He’s also usually right. Like 9 times out of 10. He can stare deep into your soul with his little beady eyes, notice the little itty bitty things about you that even you didn’t think to notice, stay silent until he can stay silent no more, and then tell you you’re full of shit. This asshole knows my heart. Fuck you, Pet.

Graceila Putri

Bridesmaid

A core memory: Lala & I rooming in Seattle the summer after college, both newly graduated & freshly out of relationships; adrift, a little bit lost, and not quite ready to be adults. Thinking back to this time, I remember the overwhelming confusion of the in-between, but mostly the deep comfort of her presence and sheer joy of our adventures - splitting jumbo boxes of donuts, hunting for free workout classes, and randomly road-tripping to Oregon. Fast forward 7 years later, we've grown to [grudgingly] accept our adulthood, but old habits die hard: we still regularly share donuts, work out together and look so much alike that we always get mistaken for sisters. La, look at all we've been through together - I can't be more proud of the person you've become, or more thrilled to have you by my side!

Elbert Tiwa

Officiant, Founder & Head Matchmaker @ Empire Fit Club

It is only fitting that Elbert officiate our wedding. After all, we met in his gym, and fell in love in the community that he built. Fun fact: we were probably the 10th or so couple who met and got together at Empire. The gym had basically evolved into a sweaty, adrenaline-and-dopamine-fueled Netflix dating show at this point. Day to day, you will likely find him aggressively barking at gym members and playing the part of a tough and militant ex-Marine to conceal the fact that he is actually an embarrassingly gigantic softie inside. Truly "Muka sekuriti, hati Hello Kitty" incarnate. We see you, Elbert. We will always owe you for kicking us into shape & bringing us together!
