Our Story
Clare and Phil have been in each other's lives for a decade. Meeting for the first time during a spring break in Fort Lauderdale, they started off as friends. It wasn't until a trip to Chicago for a Cubs World Series run that Phil finally made the first move, asking Clare to his date party.
A few months later, Clare invited Phil to her 21st birthday party. Upon arrival, he was greeted (to his surprise) by most of Clare's extended family who had come to celebrate in Ann Arbor. But Phil jumped right in, manning the bar with Mr. N and making the rounds with Clare's aunts... He was a keeper.
Since then, Clare and Phil have been by each other's side through it all - college graduations, medical school, and long distance. Now, they have finally settled in Nashville together, where Phil is finishing his residency. With plans to return to Detroit - where both of their families reside - it only felt right to celebrate their wedding in the city they call home.
This past year, Phil completed the RCIA process and was confirmed Catholic. By having a traditional Catholic wedding, they are looking forward to sharing their faith with their guests.
Phil proposed to Clare on November 21, 2023 on Quarton Lake in the neighborhood she grew up in.
