We suggest using www.tripmasters.com to book your trip! We have had a lot of success with this website and they have great deals, too! Check major airline websites, but also check www.skyscanner.com to compare prices! If you need more help booking your trip, check out AAA if you want a great option for a travel agent!
You have several options! However, we will be staying in Dublin all weekend. We will be flying into Dublin and awaiting guest arrivals the weekend of July 15th. Dublin (DUB), Shannon (SNN), or Belfast (BFS) are all great options. Choose your airport based on the rest of your European Adventure! Visit the "Travel" tab of our wedding website for more details!
See below for all the options!!
It is entirely up to you! Here's what we know about the Irish Rail and Public Transportation For a fun adventure, take the train! www.irishrail.ie Book your tickets here! www.eurail.com More information about the Irish Rail www.seat61.com Great map of all the stops on the Irish Rail www.transportforireland.ie Things to Note: Train Ride from Belfast to Sligo= about 6 hours and €60 Train Ride from Dublin to Sligo= about 3.5 hours and €22 Train Ride from Shannon to Sligo= about 7.5 hours and €43 (Taking the Irish Rail from Shannon to Sligo will be the more difficult route to complete, as there is no direct pickup at Shannon Airport and it is not a direct route to Sligo--you may have to get a taxi to get to the Rail and change trains/platforms during the route).
Car Rental Feel free to rent a car. When choosing this option, remember that European roads are VERY small, you drive on the "wrong" side of the road, and a lot of European cars for rent are manual shifting cars. www.aaa.com www.hertz.com www.autoeurope.com www.turo.com (think air bnb for cars)
For-Hire Transportation (This is who we will use if enough people would like to take a mini-bus from Sligo to Dublin on 7.17.2022 and then back to Dublin on 7.20.2022. Please let Clare know if you are interested). Eugene Mc Partland with Sligo Chauffeur www.sligochauffeur.com and www.sligotours.com Eugene is also the contact person for taxi services in Sligo
