Eloy and Clare met in highschool where they shared a chemistry class during their sophomore year. They were friends, but didn't hang out much outside of class, except for when Eloy would copy Clare's chemistry homework before class. Things changed in junior year when they both joined the International Baccalaureate Program and had most of their classes together. That October, they did a psychology project together and everything slowly started coming together. They began to do more projects together, studying for tests, and talking more outside of classes. Eloy would walk Clare to classes in the morning and they would talk before getting picked up after school. They were both in the Beta Club and did a lot of volunteering work together at Marbles and the Miracle League. In early March the following year, Eloy asked Clare to go to prom with him, and of course she said yes. A couple of days later, they went out on our first date of many. By the time of highschool graduation, they had been dating for about a year and a half, and had gone to both proms. Even though they were going to different colleges (initially), they were ready to face it together.

In the fall of 2020, both Clare and Eloy were studying at NC State University. Their most common pastime together was studying, either at their favorite coffee shop (Ugly Mug) or the many places on campus. They loved to get icecream together at the Howling Cow on Friday nights after classes were over and go to football games in the fall. When classes were online, they spent a majority of the time studying together in Talley or reserving quiet rooms in the library. Clare graduated from NCSU in fall of 2022, and Eloy graduated the following spring of 2023. At this time, they had been dating for six years. On December 1st, 2023, Eloy decorated Clare's apartment she shares with her sister. He put up balloons, decorated her Christmas tree, added string lights and streamers to the ceiling, and waited for her to get home from work. When she arrived, she opened the door to Eloy dressed in a suit, the apartment glowing with fairy lights, and bright silver balloons spelling out "Will You Marry Me?" Of course, she said yes.

Eloy and Clare's favorite things include Dungeons and Dragons, hiking, Pokemon, Minecraft, camping, PUBG, and reading. A perfect night would be a night in - complete with a short walk around the lake, pizza, a couple episodes of anime, a videogame to play together, and reading separate books together on opposite ends of the couch. Eloy loves to read manga and manhwa (which Clare affectionately calls "picture books") and is currently the DM for a D&D campaign including Clare and a couple of their friends. His current fixation is painting mini-figurines of their characters and other figurines he finds interesting. Clare loves to read romantasy books (romance + fantasy), but her current reads have been focused more on romcom than fantasy. Her current videogame fixation is Stardew Valley, and she enjoys playing D&D with Eloy and friends.
