Clara had just moved up to New York from Texas thinking she would only stay for a few months. She was going to school and working as an inhome nanny. Mathew was focusing on his own life chapters involving work, helping his grandma and keeping up her property, and other hobbies. They were both trying to build a future while waiting for the right person to share it with. Looking for new friends and wanting to explore more of Buffalo, they found each other online. For months they talked, joked, laughed and soon began to find they had a surprising amount of similar interests. The more they became aquatinted, the more they grew closer and rapidly fond of each other. Mathew knew in his heart that his 5 year long wait to find the right girl was finally over. Clara tried to not fall for Matt's charm, witt, and good looks, but couldn't deny that the perfect man was right in front of her. They made their relationship "Facebook official" on a November night in 2021 at a camp in the Southern Teir of WNY after recognizing that this was real love. Mathew had already met Clara's parents at this point and not long after, Mathew asked them for her hand in March of 2022. He asked Clara to marry him at her favorite DJ's show in Buffalo NY with their friends. It all felt like a dream as both of their lives merged together in an effortless bliss.
