What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Black-Tie Optional. Tuxedos and evening gowns are welcome, as are suits and formal cocktail attire.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 4pm, please arrive by 3:30pm to make sure you are seated on time.

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes, Clara and Christopher have arranged bus transportation to transport guests to and from The Ruins on Saturday. The first bus will arrive at the (hotel) at 3:15pm and the (hotel) at 3:30pm. A separate bus will arrive at the (hotel) at 3:15pm and (hotel) at 3:30pm. Transportation back to hotels will be available at 11:00pm. If you choose to stay at an Airbnb/rental, you will be responsible for your own transportation. Please note that there are no Lyfts or Ubers in the area.

Is there parking available near the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, there is on-site parking in the lot across the street from the venue.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! The ceremony will be outside and the cocktail hour is both inside and outside on the terrace. The reception will be indoors.

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

Upstate New York is beautiful in July! The ceremony should be very warm, around 80 degrees. The evenings get a little cooler and will probably get down to the mid-70s.

Are all of the wedding events at the same venue?

Answer

All of our weekend festivities will take place on the grounds at The Ruins at Sassafras. We want to enjoy all that the beautiful property has to offer, therefore, all of our events are at different places on the property!
