Flashback to 2021, when Troy realized he needed a date to Senior Prom. Special shoutout to Fellowship of Christian Athletes for prompting him to ask Ashlee. Next thing Ashlee knew, she was both talking to Troy for the very first time and getting asked to prom. We went as “friends,” but deep down, we both knew there was something more. Flash forward to the end of freshman year of college, Ashlee was walking back from class at GCU when she heard a familiar voice. Troy was visiting campus for the weekend, and we just happened to cross paths. For the rest of the semester, Ashlee could not stop thinking about him. Finally, Ashlee was back home in Orange County for Summer, but, being the younger, more reserved siblings that we are, neither of us had the courage to ask the other to hang out. So Garrett (Troy's older brother) and Amanda (Ashlee's older sister) made it their mission to get us together. They pushed us out of the house to go line dancing that night — and although we acted hesitant, we were secretly dying to see each other. That night led to Troy officially asking Ashlee on their first date, where they watched sunset at Salt Creek Beach and, of course, Troy impressed Ashlee with card magic tricks, which then led to countless dates, officially as "boyfriend and girlfriend", and Troy and Ashlee both ending up at GCU together. Now here we are 3 years later, getting MARRIED! All glory to God! We feel so beyond thankful to celebrate with you. Each one of you has played a significant role in our lives and relationship. We cannot wait to make this covenant before God and in front of the people we love most. Please join us in praying as we prepare for this lifelong journey, with Christ always at the center. Genesis 2:24 - "Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
