Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kaitlin Vadla and Joel Todd
Here are a few of our favorite places but there are a million things to do in Alaska so please call and we can help with more ideas if you need them.
Declination Roasting Company

Declination Roasting Company

44550 Eddy Hill Drive, Soldotna, AK 99669

This is just a roasting facility, not a coffee shop, but stop by (call first) and Hollis will take care of your coffee needs. Beans can also be purchased at Lucy's Market and at The Goods.

Lucy's Market

Lucy's Market

338 Homestead Lane, Soldotna, AK 99669
, (907) 262-3232

Great spot for all your cheese and snack needs. Lucy's is helping with our wedding spread, and we're so happy about it!

Where Its At

Where Its At

35911 Kenai Spur Hwy #13, Soldotna, AK 99669

Willow makes some amazing foods, so amazing that we asked her to serve up some love and morsels for our wedding.

The Goods

The Goods

35911 Kenai Spur Highway, Soldotna, AK 99669
, (615) 663-8519

Environmentally focused artist Co-Op and specialty grocery store. Did you forget toothpaste? soap in a sweater? leggings from local artists? Well then stop by the goods and save the planet with some zero waste products.

Keen Kow Thai Food

Keen Kow Thai Food

66873 Robin Avenue, Ninilchik, AK 99639
, (907) 567-3211

Best Thai food in Alakska. It is hot so don't try to be cool.

Soldotna Creek Park

Soldotna Creek Park

251 States Avenue, Soldotna, AK 99669
, (907) 262-3151

Stop by on Wednesdays 11-5 pm for the market and food trucks and then from 6-9 for live music and beer garden.

Beemun's Bike & Ski Loft

Beemun's Bike & Ski Loft

35277 Kenai Spur Highway, Soldotna, AK 99669
, (907) 262-1234

Rent a bike - they have road, fat tire, full suspension, whatevs floats your bike-boat! And hit Tsalteshi trails single track, the Unity Trail loop from Soldotna to Kenai, or the shores of Cook Inlet! If you're feeling really adventurous, some of our favorite mountain bike trails are Crescent Lake and Resurrection Trail.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Seward Highway, Anchorage, AK 99587
, (907) 783-0058

This. Place. Is. THEBEST! It's a huge outdoor conservation area on your way south from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula. Go in morning and you might see a bear getting fed a literal TON of blueberries, or baby moose getting fed!

AK Adventures

AK Adventures

1170 Lake Shore Drive, Homer, AK 99603
, (907) 235-1805

If we were going to splurge on a bear-viewing trip, we'd go with Drew Hamilton, our no-pebble-mine-partner-in-crime because he loves bears more than anyone we know! Go online and fill out the contact form and mention Kaitlin Vadla's wedding party!

Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

1 Ski Hill Road, Soldotna, AK 99669
, (877) 285-5628

We've got 2 million acres of wild land right outside our back door! If you've never been, be sure to check out the visitor center and go for a hike in the refuge! Some of our favorite hikes in the refuge are out toward Cooper Landing: Skyline (steep, but great views!) Skilak Overlook (shorter and mellower, but a great view of Skilak lake!) and Cecil Rhodes (Very steep, but often are rewarded with mt. goat buddies!)

The Cookery

The Cookery

209 5th Avenue, Seward, AK 99664
, (907) 422-7459

Seward is full of adventures. If you have enough time to go over, be sure to hike up to the toe of Exit glacier or all the way up to the Harding Ice field. Or, hop on a fishing charter or Kenai Fjords Tour. Finish the day at our favorite Seward Restaurant, The Cookery. Be sure to get the mushroom toast!
