Stop by on Wednesdays 11-5 pm for the market and food trucks and then from 6-9 for live music and beer garden.
Rent a bike - they have road, fat tire, full suspension, whatevs floats your bike-boat! And hit Tsalteshi trails single track, the Unity Trail loop from Soldotna to Kenai, or the shores of Cook Inlet! If you're feeling really adventurous, some of our favorite mountain bike trails are Crescent Lake and Resurrection Trail.
This. Place. Is. THEBEST! It's a huge outdoor conservation area on your way south from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula. Go in morning and you might see a bear getting fed a literal TON of blueberries, or baby moose getting fed!
If we were going to splurge on a bear-viewing trip, we'd go with Drew Hamilton, our no-pebble-mine-partner-in-crime because he loves bears more than anyone we know! Go online and fill out the contact form and mention Kaitlin Vadla's wedding party!
We've got 2 million acres of wild land right outside our back door! If you've never been, be sure to check out the visitor center and go for a hike in the refuge! Some of our favorite hikes in the refuge are out toward Cooper Landing: Skyline (steep, but great views!) Skilak Overlook (shorter and mellower, but a great view of Skilak lake!) and Cecil Rhodes (Very steep, but often are rewarded with mt. goat buddies!)
Seward is full of adventures. If you have enough time to go over, be sure to hike up to the toe of Exit glacier or all the way up to the Harding Ice field. Or, hop on a fishing charter or Kenai Fjords Tour. Finish the day at our favorite Seward Restaurant, The Cookery. Be sure to get the mushroom toast!
