Three years ago, Tomas and Claire met shortly after Claire moved to Miami, at a local parish’s young adult group. For about a year and a half, they ran in the same social circles, but did not “notice” each other until the Super Bowl in 2023. Neither of them remembers which team won the game, but they both remembered each other and their conversation about the morality of war, the rise of regional geopolitics, and American history. Thereafter, Claire asked him to grab lunch. Their conversation started over salmon benedict and never ended. In the subsequent months, Tomas referred her for a job at his company, she started working there, and they became closer friends. After a time, Tomas realized that Claire was the only person he wanted to talk to on the phone or eat lunch with. After a few months of this, he came to her apartment and professed his like to her on the balcony. Since then, Claire and Tomas have enriched their relationship by supporting each other through personal goals, disagreements, and the deaths of relatives. After eleven months of dating, on a parish trip to the Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, Tomas proposed while praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Now, they’re undergoing marriage prep, wedding planning, and house hunting, and they can’t wait to start a family together. Claire and Tomas love to salsa dance, run, attend mass and brunch together, play board games, and discuss what they’re reading. We can’t wait for you to witness our sacrament, share in our commitment to each other, and celebrate with us very soon!
