Our Story
Claire and Joe both transferred to Ramapo College for the fall semester of 2016. They first met in Claire’s friend’s dorm, Butternut L, when Joe came with a few of his teammates. Since they were both living in the transfer dorms, Joe offered to walk Claire home to protect her from the clowns spotted around campus.
After running into each other a few more times, they exchanged numbers and soon began spending time together almost every day. Throughout the rest of college, they supported each other both on and off the field.
After graduation, Claire and Joe navigated an hour long drive, busy schedules, and even a global pandemic, all while falling in love with Claire’s dog, Kobe. The very first walk the three of them took together was in the same park where Joe would later propose.
In December of 2024, Claire and Joe moved in together in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. On March 7, 2026, with Kobe by his side, Joe got down on one knee in that very park and asked Claire to marry him.
