The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, but the dinner and dancing portion of the evening will be indoors.
The UC Berkeley campus can be large and confusing. The most direct ways to approach the venue are from the South side of campus, near the corner of Bancroft and College Avenues, or from the North side of campus along Piedmont Ave. near the Haas School of business. Look for a brown shingled building surrounded by oak trees. The ceremony will be on the lawn on the back side of the building.
There is no transportation provided directly to the venue. Guests can walk into campus or take Ubers/Lyfts directly to the venue.
There will be on-street parking available in neighborhoods near campus as well as a number of city and university owned parking garages. On-street parking on streets close to campus is often metered until 6pm. For non-locals, please do not leave any items in your vehicle as break-ins are common in the Bay Area. If you are dealing with mobility issues, let us know and we can likely arrange special parking options.
Yes, it's required that all guests are fully vaccinated.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
If your invitation lists the name of your child then yes, if not we prefer an adults only party.
We're in the midst of planning additional events, including an after party. Stay tuned for more details!
Cocktail, but you're encouraged to bend the rules.
Hawaiiiiiii!
Nope! Winston definitely wasn't smart enough. But you can get married at the Faculty Club at UC Berkeley anyway, and it's an amazing venue on a beautiful campus. And we have other connections to the school.
Great question! The flowers were drawn by the sister-of-the-groom, Juliette Struye. Winston laid them out onto a card and picked the fonts (he loves picking fonts for things.)
Glad you asked! The Faculty Club at UC Berkeley was designed by famous Berkeley architect, Bernard Maybeck, in 1902 to "promote mutual acquaintance and fellowship among officers of instruction and government of the University." And now, 120 years later, it will promote the fellowship of Claire and Winston! Read more here https://www.berkeleyfacultyclub.com/club/history
No, sorry. That would be fun though.
Cause we luv each other.
Glad you asked! Winston and Claire have booked DJ King Most for the event. He regularly DJs around Bay Area clubs, and hosts a weekly radio show on KALW (Tuesdays, 10pm to Midnight.) We chose him because of his eclectic mixes and Bay Area recognition. For the party, we'll be having him run the spectrum from Motown to New Wave, Funk to Freestyle. It's gonna be fun!

We are actively trying (really hard!) to get Sacha Baron Cohen (see clip above), Klay Thompson, and at least one of the Obamas to attend, but having trouble getting in touch with them. If you can help, let us know.
Either Claire or Winston probably.
Great! If La Croix, Fort Point Beer, or some nice winery wants to give us free stuff for our wedding, we'll happily take the sponsorship. But we won't put your logo anywhere.
We are too! Is that a question though?
To get to Claire and Winston's wedding!
