We’re getting Married!

Did you know Billy made his move by friending Claire on Facebook and chatting via messenger? Classic love story really. At the time, Claire was traveling and away from home. Hundreds of messages were exchanged. From the get go, he was smitten.

Much like the story of how they met, their engagement story is untraditional. Billy proposed in the parking lot of an assisted living facility in Marysville. Wait, what? How romantic?! If you know Claire, you’ve likely heard, or been privy to her large family. Dear Old Denton (grandpa) was an impeding patriarch. With his health declining, Billy spend one day asking Claire’s Dad = Doug, Mother = Sue, and Grandpa Denton for her hand in marriage. Pretty sure he sent also sent Doug a Facebook message asking for permission. At least he asked both Sue and Denton in person. Dear old Denton in the most hard ass told Billy, “It’s about time, you chicken shit. You better go ask her now, because as soon as you leave I’m going to call and tell everyone.” The couple followed up their engagement by celebrating and going Bowling. And that is how romantic engagement stories are made.
