The Ivy League

Olivia

Matron of Honor

Olivia and Claire met while studying abroad in Madrid. Maybe it was something in the Spanish sun or maybe we truly are cut from the same cloth, but it seemed like Olivia and I had been lifelong friends after no time at all. Olivia is able to push me beyond my comfort zone with ease and can find joy in life’s most mundane circumstances. I’m so grateful to have my chiquitita by my side as my matron of honor!

Hailee

Bridesmaid

The friend Claire never knew she needed. Hailee said she prayed for one good friend in grad school, and she has proven to be a close confidant and prayer warrior ever since. I’m certain a good portion of credit goes to those prayers for bringing Sean and me together. Unrelated but totally notable, ask Hailee how to say “poinsettia.”

Mallory

Bridesmaid

Claire’s oldest sister and role model. Her favorite conversation topics include Survivor strategy and the way dance studios should smell.

Nicole

Bridesmaid

Nicole is Claire’s older sister. Her talents include making killer cocktails and delivering perfect one-liners. I guess you could say she excels at roasting and toasting!

Kaylee

Bridesmaid

Kaylee is Sean’s only sister. A day spent with Kaylee and Sean is full of jokes made at each other’s expense, but really no one is safe from Kaylee’s quick wit. She’s got a huge heart to match her big brain, and to top it off she’s the best hype-woman I ever did know!

Laura

Bridesmaid

Laura had the privilege (read: responsibility) of being Claire’s first and last college roommate, from freshman year to study abroad in Spain. Laura is the Lewis to Claire’s Clark and is truly a kindred spirit.

Kiani

Bridesmaid

Kiani and Claire became friends when they were interns together for a women’s ministry in London. Kiani’s warmth and quiet humor brought a sense of coziness to the rainy weather. Afterwards, Kiani moved to Chattanooga, for which Claire is eternally grateful because it meant weekend trips that led to her meeting Sean and eventually moving here herself. Now Kiani and Claire live in the same city once again!

Annie

Bridesmaid

The roommate so nice, we lived together twice! Annie has the voice of an angel and a heart of gold. She not only tolerates Claire’s love for musical theater and Harry Potter but *encourages* it.

Mitch

Best Man

Sean’s best man, high school & college team mate, summer co-counselor, bear encounter partner, sun burn buddy, Braves fanatic, best friend, and most importantly brother in Christ. He’s an incredible father, friend, and man of God. Sean has the honor of calling Mitch his Best Man.

Seth

Groomsman

Seth & Sean met in 8th grade when Sean hit his younger brother Matt with a baseball in a game, since then, they have been some of the best of friends. From being teammates all four years of high-school, graduating in the same class, endless road trips, climbing rocks on weekend adventures, riding mountain bikes on the edge of mountains, and sharing stories around a fire from all the mayhem they have created. Seth and Sean share a lifetime of fun, and an incredible friendship no matter the season.

Matt

Groomsman

Sean hit Matt in the back with a baseball in the 8th grade, now he’s one of Sean’s best friends. Matt has caught Sean many times, from climbing falls or catching baseballs at shortstop when Sean was pitching. Matt has always been ready for anything that Sean throws at him. They have sat in ice cold fields hunting for coyotes, fished till their thumbs were raw, and have wrestled plenty of rocks. Matt has always been the example for Sean to “just do it.”

Steve

Groomsman

One of the most intentional, caring, and loving friends. Steve and Sean were connected through summer camp, they were co-counselors and both baseball players. Steve & Sean shared many nights on their cabin porch praying for students to meet Jesus, praying for each other, and embracing each other with words of encouragement and love through difficult times throughout college and beyond. Steve & Sean share a love for baseball & for the Braves even though they live thousands of miles away, for years they would connect in a new city to visit a new MLB ball park. Steve is one of the most courageous, risk taking, and loving of friends.

John

Groomsman

Chicken John, Sean & John met in art class in the 6th grade. They were introduced when Sean noticed John painted a portrait of a chicken. From that point on, they have been life long friends. John and Sean have shared their Georgia roots by shooting guns and muddin’ after class. John is the definition of a steadfast friend, he is a loving father, husband, a man of all trades and one that will always be family to Sean.

Cody

Groomsman

“Hell yeah brother”, Cody & Sean met working in Fiji during Sean’s 8 months over seas. Cody made an incredible impact on Sean’s life. Cody is one of the most loving, accepting, understanding, caring, adventurous, vulnerable humans Sean has ever met. He loves all and inspires everyone around him to love more and to pursue life every day. He’s an incredible surfer, swimmer, scuba diver, teacher, steward, kava buddy (& climber) and most of all an incredible friend.

Ben

Groomsman

Sean and Ben began their friendship by leading REI trips together, they came to trust each other by climbing and handling each other lives on a piece of rope, they have chased rain fall & rivers with their paddles and kayaks, to disc golf buddies, and the occasional mountain bike rides. Ben is a true adventure buddy, with many more adventures ahead.

TJ

Groomsman

TJ and Sean met at their jobs when Sean first moved to Chattanooga, TJ is an incredible teacher, rider, friend, and bowling buddy. They bowl together nearly every week and compete for the company trophy. TJ has been a huge impact on Sean’s life in Chattanooga for his friendship and constant support in his daily growth.
