Marie and Pellston Regional Airport (PLN), which is about 15 miles south of Mackinaw City at the tip of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Here are some common items that might be helpful to pack and/or consider: -Many Mackinac Island activities are outdoors. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and be prepared for rain. In May, the weather can be unpredictable. Make sure to be prepared for the cold! -Transportation is limited to walking, bike riding, and horse drawn taxis. Make sure to give yourself extra time to get anywhere. -Horse drawn taxis are cash only and can be scheduled in advance. Their phone number is 906-847-3323 -Mission Point will transfer your luggage from the ferry to the resort, but it can take some time for your bags to arrive. You may want to pack a small bag to keep with you. We usually tip the haulers in the form of cash. -As there are many horses on the island, if you have allergies it may be a good idea to have medication with you.
