Day-Of Things to Know

If you have any other questions, please reach out to Claire & Richard!
Question

Dress Code

Answer

The dress code is formal (black tie optional). Please note that the ceremony is a Catholic mass, so we ask that you dress respectfully for the church.

Question

Wedding Ceremony

Answer

Our wedding Mass will begin right at 3:00 PM (we’re on a tight timeline!). We recommend arriving around 2:45 PM so you have plenty of time to park, grab a program, and find your seat before the music starts. Guests can park in the lot behind St. Mary’s Parish, where the ceremony will take place. We kindly ask that all cars be moved from the lot once the ceremony wraps up.

Question

** Family Members **

Answer

If you’re related to Claire or Richard, we’d love for you to stick around after the ceremony for some quick group photos. PLEASE stay in your pew after Mass and be ready to move forward to the altar when your group is called. We’ll quickly snap photos of the extended families on the Halligan, Wells, Muha, and Gower sides before letting everyone head out to cocktails.

Question

Getting Between Venues

Answer

We’ve built in some extra time between the ceremony and reception to make it easy to travel the one mile between the two venues, whether you’re: Driving & parking in Park Place Garage (Valet is offered at the Westin at a discounted rate of $12 per car for the event, and $35 for overnight guests.) Taking the free Annapolis City Shuttle Catching an Uber/Lyft Or enjoying a 20-minute walk through downtown Annapolis (weather and heel-height permitting!)

Question

Our Favorite Stops Along the Way

Answer

There are plenty of great spots between the two venues if you'd like to make a quick stop in the hour-gap: Red Red Wine Bar – Perfect for a glass of Lambrusco Galway Bay – Grab a pint of Guinness (just make sure to split the G!) Parley Room – Enjoy a nice craft cocktail Rise Up at Market House – Grab a cup of coffee so you're ready to hit the dance floor! Downtown Ice Cream Shops – For those with a sweet tooth If the weather’s nice, the waterfront makes a beautiful spot for photos before heading to the reception.

Question

Drinks Before the Reception

Answer

If you’d like to grab a drink before (or after!) the festivities, Captain’s Daughter, the bar in the Westin lobby, is open 3:00 PM–12:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Question

Westin Hotel Guests

Answer

Many of our guests are staying at The Westin Annapolis after the reception. For those who are not staying on Friday night (or didn't do an early check in), we recommend using the time after the ceremony to park and check in at the hotel before heading to cocktail hour, right off the lobby by the entrance.

Question

Cocktail Hour and Reception

Answer

We’re kicking things off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 5:00 PM. Yes, there’s an open bar, so grab your favorite drink and enjoy a little mingling before the main event! At 6:00 PM, we’ll move into the ballroom for dinner, speeches, and lots of dancing. The open bar will stay open all night long, so pace yourselves and get ready to celebrate! We can’t wait to party with you, and just a friendly reminder: we expect to see you on the dance floor!
