Summer of 2015 I (Claire) moved into a house on Claremont St. in Lincoln's North Bottoms Neighborhood with 4 of my sorority sisters. The neighborhood was home to many college kids looking to land cheap rent, so when a house full of fraternity boys moved in next door no one batted an eye. At some point my roommate Sophia realized that she knew a couple of the neighbor boys, one of them being Quentin, and she set out on her mission to make us all friends. We started having weekly bonfires, tailgates, slip 'n slide parties, and overall just becoming the best of friends. Fast forward to Summer of 2016, my roommate Ella decided Q and I might make a great couple. While hanging at the neighbors one night, Ella nudged me into Q, grabbed our hands and dragged us across the yard to my house. She plopped us on the basement couch and made us sit and talk. Up to this point, Quentin & I had never hung out alone and didn't really know each other on a personal level. We talked for hours before realizing it was almost 4 A.M. and Q had to be at work at 9. He gave me an awkward side hug and then walked across the yard back to his house. We texted for awhile until one weekend when our neighbor group decided to go to the bars together, and at the end of the night Q kissed me. The rest is history! After my graduation in 2017 I moved back to Omaha to start nursing school and Q stayed to finish his "Victory Lap" year of college. The transition from a 30 second walk to a 45 minute drive, plus juggling school and work was challenging, but it made us realize how badly we wanted to be together. This led to lots of discussions about what our future would look like, which ultimately lead to Q moving to Omaha in 2019. Two years and lots of not-so-subtle hints after that, he finally put a ring on it! We can't imagine a better way to celebrate our 6 year anniversary than getting married! Looking forward to celebrating with all of you!
