Question

What can I wear to a Catholic wedding

Answer

For woman a modest dress or formal attire that covers knees and shoulders without low cleavage. Think elegant and understated. A hat or fascinator can also be an elegant touch. Catholic women wear veils inside the church. For men a suit and tie or nice dress pants with a button-down shirt.

Question

Can I go up and receive communion at the ceremony

Answer

There will be a time when people will go up to receive Communion (Our Lord) during the ceremony. If you are not Catholic and in the state of sanctifying grace, please remain in your seats during this time.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly. We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes early to find seating and get settled.

Question

What to expect at the border crossing?

Answer

The closest border crossing to the Church and Venue is the Langley Border crossing near Lynden WA. We will be letting the border crossing agents know prior to the day that we will be having many guests crossing for the wedding, but they will likely still ask questions regarding your trip (destination), how long you will be staying in Canada (roughly 2 hrs), where you are from and possibly your association with the bride and groom.

Question

What do I need to bring for border crossing

Answer

For American Citizens Entering Canada: Carry a valid U.S. passport or Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) (strongly recommended.) Alternative documents include: Birth certificate (original or certified copy) along with a government-issued photo ID. Certificate of citizenship or naturalization with a photo ID. Certificate of Indian Status with a photo ID. Children: Minors must carry proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, and may require parental consent if traveling without both parents. For Canadian Citizens Entering the US: Present a valid Canadian passport (required for air travel). Alternative documents for land or sea travel: Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) or Enhanced Identification Card (EIC). Trusted traveler cards like NEXUS, SENTRI, or FAST. Children under 16 can use a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship.

Question

Parking at Venue

Answer

There will be 2 trusted volunteers who will be guiding traffic to parking area. Please watch out for them. Parking will be on a grassy section west side of the venue. When you pull up the barn venue will be to the right and parking will be further north and to the left.

Question

Areas to avoid at the venue

Answer

This venue has many places kids could get to, but we are not allowed to go. Please watch kids closely to ensure they respect the venue rules. More guidance with this can be given at the venue. Ask wedding party for any questions.
