Omar and I met in the fall of 2021 at an AMC movie theater. He was the HR manager, quiet and mysterious, and I was running around doing my surveying job, bothering people about their movie experience and occasionally locking eyes with him across the room. After enough glances and overthinking, I finally decided to be brave and ask him out. Our first date was on New Year’s Eve at a pool and dart bar, which somehow turned into talking until 4 a.m. and sharing a New Year’s kiss that felt like something out of a movie. Between the banter, the laughter, and the kisses here and there, I knew that this was something special.
