Growing up, Claire and Michael both vacationed each summer at Villa Roma, a resort in the Catskill Mountains. They shared the same week, the same friends, but their individual paths never crossed. Michael was a police officer for many years in Coney Island, where Claire went to the beach each summer. Also unknown to the both of them, was that they only lived 20 minutes away from each other, right over the Verrazzano Bridge. Who knows how many times their paths crossed? Then one day in June, thanks to Hinge, Claire and Michael reconnected. Michael liked Claire's page and Claire recognized him as a familiar face from their mutual summer vacationing spot. Claire messaged him "Hi Mike! You look very familiar, do I know you from somewhere?" and the rest is history. On December 10, 2022, Claire and Michael took a trip to Cape May — their "happy place." Claire and Michael shared so many fond memories there and Michael knew it was the perfect place to propose. Adding to the special moment, Cape May was decorated and ready for Christmas - Claire's favorite time of year. As they were walking down Washington Street Mall, the main commons, Michael stopped and dropped to one knee and proposed. Claire ecstatically said "Yes!", but that wasn't the only surprise Michael had in store. After proposing, he turned Claire around where all of their family and friends were watching to share in that special moment with them. It was perfect! Claire and Michael cannot wait to tie the knot on June 29, 2024, exactly 5 years after their first date on June 29, 2019.
