Wedding Party

Anat Gross

Maid of Honor

Anat is half the reason Claire is now called Skittles. As a rookie, Skittles could always count on Anat to critique her flick, stay a few minutes late after practice to work on hucks, and do a few extra sprints. It's been nearly 9 years and none of that has changed. Anat has been there for every ultimate and personal event since 2014. Albeit, they have matured with age; instead of chasing shots they are now chasing their four legged children.

Megan Craze

Matron of Honor

Michaela's much older and much wiser sister. Her main contribution to this day was supplying the bridal party with all of the ring bearers, flower girls and the officiant of the wedding. Other than that, she will be found on the Trolley after the ceremony singing 'Meet Me in St. Louie' songs. In all seriousness, I owe a lot to my sister. She was my first friend and has been my best friend since the beginning. Even though, she asked my mom to "take me back to the hospital" when I was born. I am excited to share my wedding day with her and the whole Craze family.

Joe Milton

Bridesman

He was Claire's first friend and will be the first one to deal with her estate when she dies. They did most everything together growing up; caught frogs, played pretend, and shared clothes. Claire taught him how to growl at strangers, how to solve logarithms, and how to wear backpacks without having a strap slip off. He still uses all three of these skills to this day.

Sean Kuenzig

Bridesman

Sean and I have been friends since we were in diapers. He used to pick me up in a battery powered Jeep and ride around the "little green" in our neighborhood, popsicles in hand. He was just as bad of a driver then. We have grown up to enjoy travel, eating and drinking an occasional beverage. We have traveled to Europe, where I made him sleep on the city streets of London in January and all over the United States. Even though he lives in Ohio and we are in Missouri, there is a 50/50 chance when he calls that he is halfway through the drive to visit.

Hannah Monson

Bridesmaid

Hannah was sitting on the WUWU sideline at practice looking miserable with an upset belly, so Skittles thought this would be the perfect time to trap her into becoming a friend. It worked. Nearly half of their nights on the South Forty were spent in Mudd Dormitory eating mug cheese, watching Parks and Rec, playing N64, and finding the right light beer pairing with donuts. Can't say they found the perfect pairing, but now that they have a disposable income they might have an answer soon. Stay tuned.

Anna Siders

Bridesmaid

Anna and I went to high school together in Ohio. Our first real discussion was over our hand-me-down clothes in freshman biology class. I often found myself at her parent's house most afternoons after school playing Euchre, quoting movies and listening to great music. We went to a Halloween party in high school (probably the only party I was invited to) and dressed as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. Needless to say, but we blew every cute bunny, kitten and lifeguard costume out of the water...pun intended

Maya DeHart

Bridesmaid

Skittles' and Maya's first airplane is this photo! It has been a work in progress ever since and looks about the same, though produces the same joy every time. It took Maya some time to warm up to Skittles; initially she heavily disproved of how she cut a birthday cake and it (or Skittles) stunted the relationship. But frisbee heals all wounds, and for the next two years there was hardly a day that went by without seeing each other.

Bridget Shea

Bridesmaid

B was my first friend at Walsh. Weekends were spent in her basement watching Superbad & playing euchre. For Sr. homecoming, we decided to go as Disney princesses. It took some convincing for my mom to get onboard, but with aggressive negotiating, I was able to buy the $29.99 Snow White dress. I showed up to pictures noticing I was the only one in a "costume." Everyone else had bought the same color dress as their assigned princess. I didn't see my mom walk in, but I knew I was in TROUBLE. I mouthed to Anna & B, 'you both bailed!' B came up to me & said, "you look awesome, I'll handle this." She proceeded to greet my mom & explain why I was the only one to commit to a promise & it was something to be proud of. It didn't work, I was still in big trouble, but it's the thought that counts!

Natalie "Geo" Gould

Bridesmaid

Skittles and Geo (aka Goon) were the only two rookies to make Washington University's A team, so they spent most of their time in practice and during games standing right next to each other like this. While glued together, they discovered a common interest in biology and colorful birds. They were floored that Austin, Texas has a neighborhood with wild green parrots! AND they were at a tournament field - the photo shows them gawking at the birds that are squawking. They became lab partners in Bio and shifted their focus from birds to fruit flies.

Lauren "Geiger" Corbin

Bridesmaid

Geiger and I met at SLU and played Ultimate Frisbee together. I am fairly confident our friendship annoyed everyone else on the team, but we didn't care. When we would drive to tournaments, we would be each other's co-pilot and stay awake by drinking 5 hour energy shots and playing a game naming all the states in alphabetical order...on repeat. My fondest memory of college was when SLU had 2 snow days and I get a call from Geiger asking if I want to come over. I trek over to her apartment in the snow to find her on the couch sweatshirt on, bikini top over that sunning herself under an incandescent light bulb. I am so excited to have her in my bridal party...and remember catching the bouquet piggy-back style is a BAD idea. If you know, you know.

Eileen Duffner

Bridesmaid

Eileen is the other half of why Claire is called Skittles. Anat said Claire had skills, and Eileen heard Skittles, which is much more exciting. Eileen has been a part of nearly every first fun tournament experience on and off the field, and she helped Skittles see what it takes to be an elite ultimate player. It started with RevoLOUtion ultimate and will probably end with the 60+ great-grand masters league that they will establish if one doesn't already exist by that time.

Laura Reed

Bridesmaid

Laura and I met as freshman at SLU in the PT program. We had a lot of similar interests other than career field, such as ultimate frisbee, matching track suits and America themed "study groups" (...parties). We studied abroad together in Madrid and discovered that pesto was in fact made from tree nuts and Tripe soup was made of bull intestine. We also made a memorable trip to Rome to see the Vatican City; the Sistine Chapel was so beautiful, I couldn't even see straight.
